IMA (Industria Macchine Alimentari) was taken over in 1962 by Mr. Demetrio Castello and Mr. Ugo G. Bademer, who started an astonishingly successful adventure in the design and manufacture of equipment for the baked products industry.

Imaforni's first range of equipment consisted of static rack ovens for small bread bakeries; from this starting point the company continued to develop its technical expertise, its structure and its ability to serve growing national and international markets in the bread, biscuit and cake markets.

Development continued: further experience was gained on the technical side with the design and creation of the first complete industrial plant equipped with a tunnel oven; and the first rotary moulders were successfully installed. The company increased in terms of human resources, and new office and workshop facilities, while exports started up to Central and South America.
