Ting Hsin is one of the Chinese Biscuit Group which has a very strong presence in the market. One of their most important product is the famous sandwiched cracker "3+2" marketed under the brand “Mr. Khan”. The product has been so successful in the market that in 2001 Ting Hsin Group decided to buy a new, high production line and came to Imaforni to submit the project: the line had to be flexible as it had to make square, round or rectangular shaped biscuit and crackers, sandwiched or not; in any case, for both sandwiched and plain biscuit/crackers, the pool of wrapping machines had to be the same. Limited space in length was, as usual, an other important limitation. We investigate several different solutions, and the conclusion was a line 1,560 mm wide, probably the widest line ever installed in China before. Imaforni took care of the whole supply, from mixers (horizontal and verticals), dough feeding system, cut&sheet laminator, set of four gauge rolls (the last one being of 400 mm diameter and with separate motorisation between top and bottom roll), two-roll rotary cutter unit.

The oven, in line with Imaforni's philosophy, features an hybrid configuration composed of 2/3 direct gas fired system and the rest of direct convection heating system. The layout of the cooling section took care of the smooth transfer of the strips of cracker from one conveyor’s belt to the other to avoid any breakage of these wide cracker’s strips.
A smart layout allows the products – for both cracker or biscuit shells – to be uniformly stacked and then being manually fed to the magazines of two sandwiching machines; alternatively the stream of stacked product can by-pass the sandwiching station and be manually loaded by the same flow-pack machines used for packing the sandwiched products.
Ting Hsin has been particularly pleased by the final performances of the line which has been in accordance to contractual agreement; the matching of the scheduling of the various phases of the project – shipment of the equipment, installation period and quick commissioning have been appreciated by this satisfied Customer.
